The essence of the Ses Figueretes festivities is fully recovered this year with the return of one of the most popular events of this celebration, the fireworks, which have not been launched in this neighbourhood of Vila since 2019 due to the pandemic and the fact that in 2022 they opted for a drone show. Yesterday the new government team of the Ibiza Town Hall announced during the presentation of the Festes de la Terra programme that it was bringing back this tradition “at the request of the Ses Figueretes Neighbourhood Association and many citizens”, as the councillor for Fiestas, Francisco Torres, pointed out.
The fireworks display will take place on tuesday, august 15 at midnight, but it is still to be determined from where the fires will be launched. The intention, as advanced today by the president of the neighborhood group, José Juan Bonetis that they can be launched alternatively from the Illa de ses Rates and from the breakwater”, as had been happening before 2019, but everything will depend on the permits obtained.
As confirmed by Torres and Juan, it will be the Mediterránea pyrotechnics company in charge of providing the material for the show, which will last “around twenty minutes”. It will be a “inclusive” event as the Ibiza Town Hall will enable areas for people with reduced mobility and provide helmets for people with autism.
This year, to finance the fireworks castle, not only the Ibiza Town Hall is putting money, “15.000 euros”but also the Association of Neighbors of ses Figueretes that, with private contributions such as the one made by the Verdera family, contributes “about 6,000 euros,” as detailed by the councilman of Fiestas de Vila.

The fireworks show will close the festivities of ses Figueretes, that will begin on August 9th at 7.30 p.m. with the fifth edition of the Torneig d’escacs in the assembly hall of the Hotel Ibiza Playa. The semi-rapid games will be held at 7.30 pm every day until August 14 and on the 15th at 9 pm the prizes will be awarded.
On August 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, starting at 7 p.m., there will be workshops, activities and entertainment for the little ones at Julià Verdera squareand on the 12th and 13th at 9 pm zumba for the whole family.
In addition to a demonstration of ball pagès de la Colla Sa Bodega on August 11 at 8:30 p.m., the rest of the program of events, which will present Sonia Ribas and Carlos Escandellthe concerts will be completed by a varied musical offer that touches almost all genres, rock, pop, thrash, heavy metal and punk. The concerts will begin on the 11th at 9.30 pm with a classic of the festivities of ses Figueretes, The Corleone. Afterwards there will be karaoke. The next day, starting at 10 p.m., the following will perform Apotropaico and Konkordatti Punkinetti. On Sunday July 13 will play at the same time the dj Alex Hinohouse. On August 14th Simple Rock and Ruda Rock Band will be in charge from 9.30 pm to put the musical note. On the 15th, at 10 p.m., the concert program will close with I know this one.
