Illegal shelter in Ibiza town has been operating for one year

The community of neighbors of the building regrets the "little support" they have received from the security forces and the City Council of Ibiza

A supermarket on Aragón Street in Vila, Ibiza, has been operating as an illegal shelter for nearly a year, housing around 20 people in substandard conditions. Neighbours noticed unusual activity and reported it to the local police. Despite this, action from the City Council of Ibiza has been slow. Former tenants describe dire living conditions, paying €400 monthly for cramped, unhygienic spaces. Authorities have identified individuals marketing the property illegally. Neighbours and local businesses are concerned about the impact on the area, while awaiting judicial authorization for the City Council to inspect and address the issue.
