Sant Joan Town Hall is transforming the entrance to Portinatx, an eminent tourist destination, by replacing a long-abandoned water park with a versatile green space and leisure area, adjacent to s’Arenal Gros beach. Initiated shortly after the May 2023 elections, this redevelopment, championed by the PP and Mayor Tania Marí, began with the demolition of the derelict facilities, a process costing approximately €40,000, excluding the design and construction of the new leisure zone. Aimed at enhancing Portinatx’s image and accessibility, the project features plans for a wooden walkway leading to the beach, a shaded picnic spot, a children’s playground, sports facilities, and multipurpose rooms for activities and events, targeting completion before next summer.
