Ibiza already has new ambassadors of luxury. Seven, to be precise. All of them received their appointment yesterday at a gala in which that exclusive and high standing facet was present from the first minute. And is that those attending the event, held at the OD Talamanca, the first thing they saw on arrival was a spectacular Bentley.

Among those nominated this year by Ibiza Luxury Destination to fulfill the task of showing the most luxurious Ibiza are sportsmen, chefs, businessmen and designers. Those who received this recognition yesterday are Jamie Carragher, former British footballer who played his entire career at Liverpool Football Club, and Robert Pirès, who won the World Cup won by the French national team in 1998. The two new Michelin stars of the island, David Grussaute, chef of the restaurant Unic, and Walter Sidoravicious, of Omasake by Walt, are also part of the ambassadors. The same as the designers of Vintage Ibiza, José Antonio Marí and Alberto Serra, whose models were worn yesterday, in fact, by the hostesses in charge of attending the guests. Finally, the hotelier Marc Rahola Matutes, in whose establishment the gala was held, was added to the list of appointments.

In addition, one of the ambassadors appointed last year, Wayne Lineker, a businessman who in 2023 could not be at the event, collected his credentials, as explained from the organization of the gala, which also announced the new partners of Ibiza Luxury Destination: Iberia, “a leader in the aviation sector”; and The Boutique GSA, “a global agency that connects luxury travel agencies with destinations, hotels and exclusive experiences”, led by Laura Rodriguez. “We have these two new additions as partners, along with the continuity of Welojets, a top global company that offers private flights anywhere in the world,” said the organization, which took advantage of the gala to welcome “new members who embody the spirit of Ibizan luxury.” These are Ibiza Yatch Services, “a leader in nautical services with more than 20 years of experience in Ibiza and Formentera”; Cala Bassa Beach Club, “offering luxury and comfort in a spectacular setting with three seafront restaurants”; Jaima Proyect SL, “creating exclusive homes with a unique vision since 2016”; Hotel Riomar, “recently awarded by Forbes as the best hotel with sea views in Ibiza”, and IT restaurant, “a true temple in the port of Ibiza for gastronomy lovers”.

At the celebration, on the rooftop of the establishment, there was a photocall, in which few of the attendees could resist posing. Nor the gifts. All of them took home a scarf. In addition, as a final touch to the evening, a cocktail was served in which, in addition to canapés, there was a tasting of one of the products most associated with luxury: caviar.
