An “urban planning tool” that avoids nightclubs and “tablaos” and foresees “parking lots” in Ibiza

The Special Plan for the port of Ibiza, initially approved, divides the port area, which stretches from the old Muro to the es Botafoc lighthouse, into eight different areas and defines the uses and projects planned for the future in each of them

The Special Plan for the port of Ibiza, as developed by the Ibiza Town Hall in collaboration with the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands, aims to effectively manage and exploit the port’s public domain. The plan divides the port into eight distinct areas, each with specific development proposals. Key elements include increasing buildability in the Yacht Club area, reconfiguring the Botafoc Ibiza marina, establishing a quarantine facility in Es Botafoc to control invasive species, and integrating the port with the city through infrastructure improvements like underground parking and the remodeling of the Santa Eulària avenue. The plan focuses on enhancing port-city interaction while preserving historical and cultural aspects, balancing maritime needs with urban development.
