Matthias Kühn, a well-known German businessman and owner of Tagomago island, is under scrutiny by the Tax Agency for alleged tax fraud exceeding eleven million euros, linked to a complex network of shell companies designed to evade tax obligations on profits from real estate transactions. This investigation follows a house search conducted at his island residence last Tuesday, with Kühn present but refusing to surrender his computer passwords to officials. This incident is not Kühn’s first encounter with tax issues, having previously appeared on the list of tax defaulters. Meanwhile, in a separate legal matter, the Supreme Court ruled that the Balearic Government must compensate Kühn with 96 million euros for the declassification of the Muleta urbanization project in Port de Sóller, a decision stemming from a 2008 urban moratorium issued by the government that affected several planned developments. This ruling confirms the liability for compensation originally set by the High Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands.
