The squall Aline will bring strong gusts of wind and rough seas to Ibiza and Formentera

The State Meteorological Agency foresees a change in the weather in the Pitiusas from this Thursday onwards

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated the yellow risk for strong gusts of wind and rough seas for this Thursday in the Pitiusas, coinciding with the arrival of a new squall.

The small but deep squall Aline, according to Aemet, will originate a storm of intense winds, rain and bad sea that will affect a good part of the Peninsula.

Thus, Aemet forecasts wind gusts from the southwest up to 70 kilometers per hour from 19 to 23.59 hours this Thursday.

It has also activated the yellow alert for southwest wind of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, force 7, with waves of three meters high.

By Friday, Aemet has activated the orange alert for significant risk of coastal phenomena from midnight until 16 hours. Southwest wind is expected with gusts of 60 and 70 kilometers per hour (force 8) and waves of four to five meters. From 16 hours the risk becomes yellow, with wind gusts of 50 and 60 kilometers per hour, west northwest direction, force 7 and waves of three and four meters.

The rains will return to the Pitiusas this Thursday with a probability of rainfall of 85% from 12 noon.

The forecast is that rainfall will remain on Friday morning with a 100% probability, with a tendency to decrease in the afternoon.

Declining temperatures

Temperatures will remain between 19 and 26 degrees this Thursday and will decrease as the weekend progresses, with 17 and 26 degrees on Friday, 15 and 23 degrees on Saturday, and 15 and 22 degrees on Sunday.
