What are equatorial nights and when do they arrive in Ibiza?

Next week the thermometers will rise in Ibiza and Formentera. From this Thursday until next Wednesday, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts that the mercury will rise to a maximum of 34 degrees Celsius. The minimum will be no lower than 20 degrees on any given day, and will even reach 25 degrees.

A night equatorial o torrid night is that night when the temperature does not drop below the 25°C. They are, therefore, a type of tropical night, which are those nights with temperatures of more than 20ºC. However, since not falling below 25°C is remarkable in itself and presents a greater number of risks, they are called equatorial nights. since equatorial nights are the nights with higher associated risks, the specific designation for equatorial nights is used.

During the weekend, Ibiza and Formentera, according to the Aemet, will be between 22º and 33º. However, next week, the thermometer will rise a few degrees. Wednesday will be the moment when the Pitiusas will face the well-known equatorial nights. The thermometer during the night will not go below 25º and during the day it can go up to 35º.

As is logical, with equatorial nights and early mornings it is complicated to fall asleep if refrigeration is not available and can cause sleep disturbances, in addition to impeding rest.
