In the next few days, the idyllic spring weather that has been enjoyed on the islands will abruptly transition to a harsh winter, as forecasted by the State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet).
By Thursday, the likelihood of precipitation will increase, persisting until Sunday. The drop in temperature will be most noticeable from Friday, with minimum and maximum temperatures decreasing by 5 and 13 degrees, respectively.
On Saturday, the minimum temperature will plummet to 3 degrees, and there is a 75% chance of rain, according to the Aemet forecast.
February is a month notorious for its unpredictable weather patterns, as the Aemet video reminds us. This week is no exception, with Monday and Tuesday experiencing spring-like conditions, including mild temperatures above 18 and 20 degrees in many areas of the country, and even evening thunderstorms reminiscent of spring.
