The parking lot of the Sant Josep Mercadona was the scene of a shooting yesterday. According to information provided by the Guardia Civil, shortly before 8pm when the establishment was full of customers (as is usual at this time of day during the Christmas season), a man shot a handgun, from inside a white Volkswagen Golf, at another vehicle occupied by two people, a man and his son, aged 66 and 24 respectively. Neither of them were hit by the shots, which hit the vehicle they were occupying. Seconds after the shots were fired, the Volkswagen Golf which the assailant was driving, and in which another man was apparently also traveling, sped out of the parking lot.
The Guardia Civil, which has taken charge of the investigation, arrived at the scene, took statements from the victims and has alerted the PolicÃa Nacional and PolicÃa Local on the island to try to locate the assailant.
Sources of the investigation explain to Diario de Ibiza that all those involved in the incident are of South American origin and that there is a possibility that the shooting was caused by a romantic affair.
