Shooter still at large: 2 people shot at in a supermarket parking lot on Ibiza

The white Golf from which the shots were fired was found in the vicinity of the shooter's home in Vila

A man of Dominican nationality yesterday fired two shots from his car, a white Volkswagen Golf, at two other men who were also inside their vehicle at the entrance of the parking lot of a popular supermarket located at the sa Carroca roundabout in Sant Josep. The bullets did not hit either of them, an Argentine father and son aged 66 and 24, but they did hit the car. The shooter, who was apparently accompanied by another man, left the parking lot at full speed in the white Golf

The Guardia Civil, which has taken charge of the investigation in collaboration with the island’s Policía Nacional and the Policía Local, attended the scene and proceeded to collect testimonies from both the victims and other witnesses. One of them has informed Diario de Ibiza that the bullet casings were collected by the agents very close to the sa Carroca roundabout.

What is known about the shooter

The Peripheral Office of the Guardía Civil (OPC) reports that the Volkswagen Golf from which the shots were fired has already been located. It has been found in Vila, parked very close to the shooter’s home, who is still at large. The car is being carefully analyzed by specialists from the Guardia Civil laboratory who have travelled from Palma de Mallorca.

According to sources close to the investigation, the shooter is of Dominican nationality, lives on Ibiza, is married and has a son. He has a criminal record but not for serious offenses and “deals drugs” on a regular basis. Despite this background, the hypothesis that the attack took place because of “a romantic affair related to infidelity” is still being considered.

The agents who are looking for this man already know perfectly well who he is, but have as yet not been able to locate him.
