A private boat with four people on board crashed last night against an islet off the coast of San Josep, resulting in three seriously injured, as reported through a statement from Emergency Services.
The injured, a 43 year old man with internal abdominal trauma, another 56 year old with internal chest trauma and a 54 year old woman with multiple contusions, were transferred to the Hospital Can Misses in a serious condition.
The boat, the ‘Blue’, set sail from the bay of Sant Antoni. After 10pm, already on the coast of the municipality of Sant Josep, it collided with the islet of es Farallons. Its passengers made a distress call via the VHS system, according to the head of Maritime Rescue Miguel Félix Chicón, and from land, a person who witnessed the accident called 112.
Maritime Rescue immediately mobilized the ‘Guardamar Polimnia’, which moved to the scene of the accident and rescued the four crew members, who were on top of some rocks. They were taken to the port of Sant Antoni, where emergency services were already waiting for them.
