Robbery with an assault in Ibiza: “They rob him and beat him up until they break his leg.”

Three young men assaulted a couple in a Sant Antoni parking lot, robbed them, and fractured the man's tibia and fibula

“They robbed him and then beat him up until they broke his leg,” said the partner of a man of 40 years of age and Spanish nationality who was admitted on Sunday morning to the Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario in Ibiza with a fractured leg as a result of a robbery with aggression that occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, as detailed by his partner, in the parking lot of ses Variades in Sant Antoni.

The events took place at 3.30 a.m., while both were returning home from dinner with friends. After parking their car in the lot, they were approached by three young men who attacked the man, beat him up, causing a fractured tibia and fibula in one leg, and robbed him of over 1,000€ that he had on him, intended to pay the rent of the house where they both live, according to his partner, and a cell phone.

According to the woman, who was unharmed, the victim’s wife tried to get in the way of the attackers and her partner to separate them “as best she could,” until her screams and the threat of calling the police scared the thieves away, who left the place running, according to what she told Diario de Ibiza over the phone.

The incident happened at 3:30 a.m., while the couple was going home from dinner with friends in Sant Antoni, Ibiza

The wounded was immediately evacuated by ambulance to Policlínica Nuestra Señora del Rosario, where he was placed in care of the Traumatology Unit. He was operated on Monday afternoon, according to his wife, who claims she has never met the accused perpetrators and has never seen them in town. According to the Guardia Civil Peripheral Communication Office (OPC), the Guardia Civil has taken command of the ongoing inquiry.
