The Local Police of Sant Josep have rescued a dog that was in agony in the grounds of a house in the municipality. The incident took place on Thursday 9 November, when officers received a call from a neighbour alerting them to the agonising barking of an animal.
A patrol was sent to the scene and found “the sad picture that we show you”, they say in their social networks in reference to a video: “the animal unable to move because of the pain and caregivers who were unable, given their psychophysical conditions, to take on such a responsibility”.
The agents alerted the Sant Jordi Veterinary Clinicwhich usually collaborates in this type of cases. The veterinarians went to the place and, once there, they took charge of the animal, but, despite the attempts to save it, they had no other choice but to put it to sleep for to avoid further suffering.
“Thanks once again to the cooperation of citizens, an unjust and sad situation has been avoided. The owners have been denounced for committing a crime of mistreatment animal”, reports the Local Police.
