Unless there is a catastrophe, i.e. a macro outbreak, the island of Ibiza is about to fall below one thousand covid cases over two weeks, according to the Balearic Ministry of Health covid viewer. At the moment it registers 1,109.2 infections per hundred thousand inhabitants, the lowest figure recorded since December 28th. At that time, however, the island was the rise of the wave, so the incidence at one week was higher than the current one, which is experiencing a drop in cases.
It would be necessary to go back to August 13 to find similar case figures of the virus and in the same situation of the fall of the wave. At that time, the one-week incidence was also somewhat higher, indicating that cases are declining at a faster rate than then.
The Pitiusas islands still remains the least affected by the pandemic. Formentera has the lowest incidence at two weeks (798.1), but Eivissa has the lowest indicator at one week (322.7), which suggests that in the coming days it could be below one thousand cases.
