Christmas lighting contest in the ports of Ibiza and Formentera

The APB has established three award categories: the best outdoor lighting and decoration ensemble, the best indoor lighting and decoration ensemble and the most original and sustainable lighting and decoration

The Autoritat Portuària de Balears (APB) is organising for the first time in the ports of Ibiza and La Savina, in Formentera, a Christmas lighting competition with the aim of beautifying the ports, fostering the port-city relationship and collaborating in spreading and promoting the Christmas atmosphere during the festive season.

The contest is organized in collaboration with the Ibiza Town Hall and the Consell de Formentera and it is open to all authorized concessionaires of the two ports. The APB has established three award categories: for the best outdoor lighting and decoration set, for the best indoor lighting and decoration set, and for the most original and sustainable lighting and decoration.

A jury formed by three representatives of different administrations and social and business entities will choose the winners in the three categories. The jury will value that the lighting and decoration contain motifs alluding to the Christmas holidays, as well as the uniqueness and sustainability, both from the energy point of view and the use of recycled materials.

Thus, from the APB have pointed out that all those concessionaires of the Pitiusan ports interested in participating in the contest can register by emailing nadaleivissa-lasavina@portsdebalears.com .

The deadline for registration is December 1 and the lighting of the lights will take place on Saturday, December 2nd. The awards ceremony for the winners of the contest will be held on December 13 at the Christmas drink offered by the Balearic Port Authority after the celebration of the Navigation and Port Councils in the ports of La Savina and Eivissa, respectively.
