Santa Eulària: Family-friendly and one of the best spots on Ibiza to enjoy nature

Located on the eastern part of the island, the municipality of Santa Eulària is one of the quietest towns on Ibiza. With dozens of plans for the little ones, it is an ideal option for families.

Es Puig de Missa, a historical site that is well worth a visit and welcomes all those who come to Santa Eulària.

Located on the eastern part of the island, the municipality of Santa Eulària is one of the most peaceful and family-friendly towns on the island. Its urban center is perfect for strolling with children, in addition to a wide variety of activities organised throughout the year for the youngest members of the family.

We must highlight the Barruget Family Theater Festival, which is held every fourth weekend in May. It is a very special theater experience where the town embraces the performing arts in a festival especially designed to be family-friendly.

Created with the aim of engaging children with the magic of the stage, the program includes numerous theater companies from all over the country and abroad, which perform about 20 different shows.

The Teatro España, the Palau de Congressos and the Exhibition Hall, along with the main streets in Santa Eulària town, traditionally stage the festival performances. Its coastline is another of the great tourist attractions: with more than 46 kilometers of coastline, the municipality has about twenty beaches and coves, such as Cala Boix, Cala Mastella, Pou des Lleó or Cala Llenya, where you can find an extensive range of restaurants, including beach bars, restaurants, and options to practice different water sports.

In addition, throughout the region there is no shortage of opportunities to practice sports in nature, as there are numerous signposted hiking and cycling routes, covering all levels of difficulty.

Santa Eulària Markets

Another of the unique features of this town are the hippy markets, which have become so famous on the island. In fact, the first to open in 1973,was in es Canar. Its beginnings gathered  the hippie artisans who lived in the area of Sant Carles under the shade of pine trees, now it has more than 500 stalls with handicrafts, fashion, jewelry, accessories, natural cosmetics, gastronomic products or musical instruments. Live music, spaces for younger visitors and restaurants round off this market, a classic that should not be missed.

The other emblematic market of the island, Las Dalias, is also located in Santa Eulària, a few meters from Sant Carles. What started in the 50s as party hall began in the 70s to attract hippies to the area, who came one day a week to offer impromptu musical performances. However, it was not until the mid-1980s that a weekly hippy flea market began to be organized. With some 200 stalls of handicrafts, fashion, jewelry and accessories, among others, Las Dalias is held every Saturday of the year.

In the municipality of Santa Eulària, with an area of 153 square kilometers, are the towns of Santa Gertrudis, Jesús and Puig d’en Valls, each with its own unique beauty.
