An Ibizan wins €20,000 on ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’

It is not the first time he has participated in a TV contest, he was previously in 'Atrapa'm si pots' of the Balearic regional channel IB3

The writer and journalist David Ventura, a Catalan who has lived in Ibiza for many years, has won 20,000 euros in the ‘La Sexta’ program ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’. Although the program was taped in February last year, it aired this Tuesday.

This is not the first time he has participated in a television contest. He has already been in ‘Atrapa’m si pots’ of the Balearic regional channel IB3.

Ventura, editor of Diario de Ibiza, will never forget what phenolphthalein is, the ninth question for which he no longer had any joker and which won him the 20,000 euros.

His nervous laughter hallucinated the presenter of the program Juanra Bonet, who did not know if Ventura was laughing because he knew the question or because of nerves.

“My idea is to go further [concursos]because I have friends who practically make a living from the contests“, Ventura points out, “and above all to live quietly and not buy only white label, because life in Ibiza is very expensive“.

The 12,000 euros left over from the prize (40% of which goes to the Treasury) was spent on a trip to Japan with his son last year and on paying a spill in his community, he explains to this newspaper where he works when he is not attending contests or writes books.

Just last month David Ventura presented his second novel, published in Ibiza by Edicions Aïllades and entitled sortir a córrer, rentar-se les dents, portar-se bé’.
