The ‘Fien’ storm has been hitting the Pitiusas since the beginning of the week. Ibiza and Formentera are on yellow alert for strong winds and bad seas and, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), it will last for a few more days.

Winds and rough seas continue until the weekend

The Thursday yellow alert is maintained for coastal phenomena from midnight to 6pm with northwest winds of between 45km to 60km/h (force 6 to 7) and waves of 3 meters. Minimum and maximum temperatures will be between 7 and 15 degrees. The snow level will be at 700 meters.

Friday sees the yellow alert for strong wind gusts of 70km/h from the west from midnight to 11am and yellow alert for rough seas with westerly wind of 50 to 60km/h (force 7) and waves of 3 meters. Temperatures remain between 7 and 16 degrees. The snow level rises to 800 and 1,100 meters.

As of Saturday, Aemet deactivates the wind alert, so the wind will settle over the weekend. However, an 80% probability of rain is expected. Also noteworthy for the end of the week is the drastic drop in temperatures to 2 degrees minimum and 14 maximum. The snow level will also drop to 600 meters.
