Weekend weather in Ibiza and Formentera: Temperatures soar to 30 degrees Celsius

The Aemet warns of abrupt changes

The State Agency of Meteorology (Aemet) has warned that this weekend a mass of very warm air coming from North Africa will result in particularly high temperatures for this time of the year: 30 to 32ºC in parts of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, which will also affect Ibiza and Formentera.

In addition, it will drag dust in suspension, which will give rise to calima and worsen the air quality, has stressed the Aemet.

The Pitiusas recorded early this morning minimum temperatures of 9ºC in Sant Antoni and Ibiza and 10ºC in the rest of the island and in Formentera. The maximum recorded yesterday amounted to 26ºC in Sant Joan; 25ºC in Sant Antoni; 23ºC in Ibiza and 20ºC at the airport and in Formentera.

For this Friday, the Aemet forecasts intervals of high clouds and clear. The fog banks will dissipate during the morning. The maximum temperature will be 20ºC. Generally light wind from the east and southeast.
