The State Meteorological Agency predicts it is “quite likely” that this Friday things will progressively stabilize on the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands and the presence of a ‘somewhat’ warmer air mass will arrive, putting an end to this winter spell. Therefore, the cold temperatures will ease slightly on Ibiza and Formentera from this Friday.

Winter temperatures will ease across the board

The AEMET does not rule out some weak and occasional precipitation in the rest of the country and forecasts cloudy intervals on the Balearic Islands with the possibility of some showers. On Ibiza, there is an 80% probability of rain this Saturday.

At the same time temperatures will rise throughout the country and will be noticeable in the minimums of the center and west of the Peninsula, except in the northeast, where the maximums will remain mostly unchanged and the minimums will fall. Frosts will be weak and will affect the northeast quadrant of the peninsula, also in mountain areas of the rest of the peninsula, and more intense in the Pyrenees, where they will be heavy.

Finally, the northly wind will predominate in the Cantabrian area and Galicia and the rest of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands will experience westerly winds, which will reach strong or very strong gusts in the Mediterranean environment and inland areas of the eastern third of the peninsula, and in general will be weak across the rest of the board.

Throughout the day they will tend to north and will be subsiding, except in the Emporda and north of the Balearic Islands where strong northerly winds will blow.
