Whoever came to Can Curreu on Saturday would have thought that the rural hotel had been booked to shoot scenes for a new season of the series ‘Vikings’. Dozens of people dressed as fierce Scandinavian warriors filled the rooms and terraces, drinking from horns and dancing ancestral dances, but they were not actors or extras for a television series. It was the wedding of two Ibicencans, Rosalia and Wenceslao, who finally fulfilled their dream of getting married like the mythical Nordic sailors.
Viking wedding party
Both are residents of Puig d’en Vallsย and fans of Viking culture and have shared their passion with their family and friends. The Viking ritual marked the wedding ceremony, officiated by the versatile artist and lawyer Chris Martos, friend of the couple. A very emotional moment for everyone, followed by a great Viking party with a feast of gastronomic delights to the taste of today’s refined palates.
Rosalรญa Cardell, the brand new bride of this unique wedding, explained yesterday that she had the wedding of her dreams. “It was fantastic and super fun”. They are leaving the honeymoon for next year, but Rosalรญa and Wenceslao are very clear about their destination: “The Scandinavian countries”.
