Rain forecasted to return to Ibiza: Aemet pinpoints the day

The Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet) warns that warm temperature anomalies will continue this week, especially in the highs, and that there is no rain in sight for at least the next ten days.

The Pitiusan countryside is already suffering the ravages of the lack of rainfall and there has even been a shortage of fodder that has forced farmers to buy it in France and also to buy Brazilian grain to feed livestock.

The drought has left the countryside “bare”, as Diario de Ibiza recently published. So much so that the Balearic Government and Consell de Ibiza are preparing aid to alleviate the serious situation. In spite of this, the Aemet does not expect that there will be rainfall at least until the second week of February.

Weather forecast this week

For this week, the Aemet forecasts lows of up to 7 degrees and highs of 18 degrees. Clear skies will prevail over clouds these days.

Early this morning, minimum temperatures of 11 degrees were recorded in Sant Joan; 12 degrees in Sant Antoni; 13 degrees in Ibiza and at the airport; and 14 degrees in Formentera.

Yesterday’s highs were 18 degrees in Sant Antoni and 17 degrees in the rest.
