When the Ibiza Christmas fair opens

The local police move 19 vehicles parked in the park where the rides will be installed, and the crane takes away another ten

Everything is starting to get ready for the installation of the traditional and busy Christmas fair in Ibiza town. This morning, the Vila Local Police have already begun to clear the car park where the attractions will be located so that they can be set up shortly. Since this very morning, a large part of the car park had been fenced off, so they had to leave their vehicles in the space provided by the Eivissa Town Hall, which is also next to the site, although a little further away. The car park will remain closed until 30 January, when the fair closes.

In fact, the Local Police has reported that this morning had to move a total of 19 vehicles that were parked in the area where the fair will be installed. “If your car has embarked on its own adventure and you can’t find it, go up to the parking lot above! We’ve left it right there,” they report via social networks. Of course, ten other owners will find their vehicles in very different conditions: six have been removed because they lacked insurance or were abandoned and four others have been towed away “for defying the circumstantial prohibition signs”.

From the churros to the Ferris wheel

The inauguration of the fair is scheduled for November 24, Friday afternoon next week. That is, one day before the city’s Christmas lights switch-on, which will be on Saturday. Of course, the regulars of the fair are used to the churros stand being moved forward, especially for breakfasts.

The fair will be open every day around 5:00 p.m and will remain open until around midnight. The churros and chocolate stand, on the other hand, will kick off first thing in the morning, as usual. “Are you ready for Christmas? We are!”, say the fairgoers.
