The Sant Josep City Council promotes the municipality at the Madrid Fitur 2023, taking place next week, as a film set with the ideal conditions to host audiovisual productions of any scale. The Consistory will also highlight, during the international tourism fair, the environmental management of its beaches, which is a pioneer in areas such as sand conservation through the sustainable management of posidonia, among other things.

The councilman of Tourism, Eduardo Sanchez has assured that Sant Josep “is a movie set which we enthusiastically take care of it because we know that it is a treasure that we have to preserve not only for the visitors we receive every year, but also for our people and the next generations”. Sánchez added that one of the municipality’s objectives is to reconcile tourist activity with the need to be “more sustainable and respectful of the environment”.

Another of the aspects that the City Council will be highlighting at the meeting is the rich cultural life of the municipality. Continuing with the line of promotion launched last year, Sant Josep will again be presented at the Madrid fair as the home of live music with a rich scene of music venues and bands.

Cultural agenda for Fitur 2023

This will be highlighted with features such as the exhibition of musical photographs from Joan F. Ribas, the celebration of a concert in a well-known venue in the Malasaña district and an acoustic recital next Saturday, January 21st, at the Ibiza stand at Ifema.

The inauguration of Ribas’ exhibition ‘Road tono Synesthesia‘ at the Malvin Gallery, located in the ‘golden mile’ of Madrid’s culture, will be the opening act for the Josepina promotion in Madrid. The following day, January 19th, Sant Josep will present the campaign ‘Un pueblo de cine’ (A village of cinema) at 1:00pm, which presents the resources available in the municipality for film and advertising production, which are channeled through the Sant Josep Film Office, the office that provides advice and manages the payment of filming fees in the municipality, among other services.

Friday, January 20th will be the presentation of ‘Beaches of Sant Josep, commitment to the future’ which highlights the pioneering management of the remains of posidonia on the municipality’s beaches. On the same Friday at 7pm, Sant Josep will celebrate the launch of the portal, Sant Josep is Music, at Club Malasaña where you can follow the musical news of the municipality and find all the resources available for the sector.
