PP Ibiza 10-point plan to lower housing costs

Vila PP calls for conversion of land for development into urban land, "not just for football fields"

The PP Ibiza council group is backing a 10-point list of measures to lower the cost of housing. Its spokesperson, José Vicente Marí Bosó, argues that the six years of “mistaken policies from the mayor, Rafa Ruiz, have caused the city to go from eighth to first place for the most expensive housing in Spain”.

The PP proposes to reduce the mandatory percentage that must be allocated to subsidised housing (VPO) from 30% to 20% because the supply is at a standstill. Another measure is to convert land for development into urban land, “not only to build football fields”, in addition to “a fiscal stimulus plan.

They also propose a plan for the construction of subsidised housing, the elimination of bureaucracy in the processing projects, the reduction of the Real Estate Tax (IBI), and the progressive reduction of the IBI tax rate to 0.60% over two years.

Furthermore, the PP demands the repeal of the fiscal ordinance that regulates Tax on the Increase in Value of Urban Land, and Govern fiscal measures, such as the reduction of rate for the purchase of a home to 4% and 2% in the case of young people under 30 years of age.
