Volvo Penta continues with its mission to build all the components necessary to make boat handling simpler and more reliable, arriving in Ibiza with Náutica Viamar. The objective? To improve the sensation of sailing, enhancing the functionality and safety on board. With this aim the EVC (Electronic Vessel Control) was born, with total electronic control of the boat, which adds more features to the previous model. It is now possible to manage the boat, from the batteries to the autopilot, almost completely, through a range of accessories designed to enhance the pleasure of sailing with the latest technology.
Easy Conect: a mobile app with all the boat’s information
The software Easy Conect has now been launched. It is an application that allows boat owners to access all the information related to the boat: from engine data to routes, itineraries and much more through a smart phone or tablet. It allows you to see from home the amount of fuel remaining, the engine hours and even send data of possible breakdowns directly to the Official Service. This system can be installed in engines built since 2006.
This year Assisted Docking has been launched, a technology that simplifies the docking of boats by eliminating the pressures of the current and the wind through software. Docking has never been so easy.
Personalised navigation
For sailing, accessories make all the difference. They can make your life on board easier, offering more comfort and maximum safety. Volvo Penta develops, manufactures and services all accessories with the same care as their engines. This results in high quality and reliable products. In addition, they provide a single contact for everything. For their customers’ peace of mind, the Volvo Penta agent network takes care of service, support and warranty for all products.
The philosophy being developed by this engine manufacturer is based on the Easy Boating concept, which aims to provide greater safety, comfort and control over the boat, and has developed various software that can be easily installed to assist with various aspects.
Among other accessories already available are:
Interceptor System, a simpler, safer and more comfortable trim system. Joystick Docking, which signicantly improves handling in those boats equipped with the IPS propulsion system. Powertrim Assistant, which automatically trims the tails leaving them at the optimal height required to navigate at each speed, reducing fuel consumption significantly. Sportfish Mode, which allows maneuvering to improve fishing and avoid the bubbles emitted by IPS tails.
All these accessories and many more can be viewed on the Volvo Penta website or by visiting a Volvo Penta service centre.
Proper boat maintenance
Anyone who owns a boat knows that good maintenance saves money and avoids possible mishaps or breakdowns, which can be particularly dangerous at sea, as well as financially painful.
A fundamental piece of advice for maintenance work is to always use original spare parts that have been tested and optimised to guarantee maximum performance, exclusively for the brand’s engines. By using a genuine Volvo Penta spare part, the customer is guaranteed that their engine will operate at maximum performance.
If, for any reason, a part fails due to a defect covered under warranty, Volvo Penta is there to handle it. All Volvo Penta parts and accessories (excluding wear parts) that have been supplied through the Volvo Penta network come with a standard 12 month warranty and, in addition, if these parts or accessories are also installed by a Volvo Penta Service, the warranty is doubled to 24 months and covers the work. So not only are you assured that your high quality parts have been installed by a Volvo Penta expert, but you also have the additional warranty on the part offered by Volvo Penta.
