Traffic accident on Ibiza involving MotoGP rider 3 times above alcohol limit

Francesco Bagnaia, 25, winner of the Assen Grand Prix at the end of June, is facing the withdrawal of his driving license after the traffic accident.

Shortly after three o’clock in the morning of Tuesday morning a traffic accident took place at the ses Salines roundabout on Ibiza. A Citroën car went off the road and ended up in the ditch without involving any other vehicle.

The driver of the car, who was alone, is the winner of the last Moto GP Grand Prix, held at the Assen circuit on June 26th: Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia, official Ducati rider.

Traffic accident three times over legal alcohol limit

The Guardia Civil and the Sant Josep Policía Local went to the scene of the incident and proceeded to perform a breathalyzer test, which gave a result of 0.87mg/l, more than three times the legal limit of 0.25.

This rate means the withdrawal of the driver’s license and is a criminal offense, so the rider Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia is facing a speedy trial in the coming days and could be unable to drive between one and four years.
