Here are the best plans for the weekend on Ibiza and Formentera

Celebrations for the Nit de Sant Joan, childrens theatre, music and street markets make for a fun filled weekend

After the summer solstice festival with the redeeming flames taking center stage, the town of Sant Joan continues to celebrate its patron saint festivities this weekend. This Friday is the big day, with all its traditions including the mass, the procession and the ball pagès and tomorrow celebrates the tribute to the elders, in which the Colla de Labritja will have the support of the folk group El Moral de La Laguna (Tenerife).

This weekend Sant Jordi becomes the center of entertainment for the little ones, with El Festín, the oldest family theater festival on the island, with its first three days of performances, clown, magic, theater and comedy for all audiences.

On Formentera, children are also guaranteed a weekend of fun with the Formentera Marxa program at the Espai Cultural de Sant Ferran

In music, the 3rd Extraordinary Concert to benefit Apneef on Saturday at the Auditori Caló de s’Oli, with three internationally renowned classical musicians.

And in theater, the play ‘Especial de corazón’, that the young company Artes Pavón presents on Saturday and Sunday at the Centro Cultural de Jesús.

Traditions are also celebrated this weekend with two outstanding events, the ‘Tríada Mediterrània’ of the Archaeological Museum, dedicated this Friday to wine, and the cantada pagesa of the Primavera de Cultura de Formentera, on Sunday in the Jardí de ses Eres de Sant Francesc.
