A flight to Barcelona from Ibiza airport was cancelled this morning “due to a problem on the airfield runway”, as reported to Diario de Ibiza by a passenger. In addition, other flights scheduled in the early hours have also suffered delays.
The presence of tire debris, as reported by air traffic controllers on their social network X, on the runway has forced the cancellation of flight VLG 3501 bound for Barcelona. The flight to Palma, which was due to leave at seven o’clock, has also been cancelled. “The passengers were inside the plane and had to return to the terminal,” says one of the passengers affected by the delays. Apparently, the fire department went to the runway and alerted passengers to the presence of an object on the runway. Other flights to Pisa, Badajoz and Palma were delayed. In addition, a flight from Milan, unable to land in Ibiza, has been diverted to Palma.
