The fourth edition of the MARE Audiovisual Contest for the Conservation of the Balearic Sea has seen a significant response with over 1,200 photographs submitted. Held at the new maritime station of es Botafoc, the contest attracted photographers from eleven nationalities across youth, adult amateur, and adult expert categories. Notably, winners include seven photographers from Ibiza and three from Formentera, highlighting local talent. Standout winners are Xavier Mas Ferrà and Vicente Planells Ramon from Ibiza, and Javier Martín Parejo, Ainoha Ezkurra, and Nuria Bufort from Formentera. The winning photographs will form a traveling exhibition across the Balearic Islands in 2024, emphasizing the contest’s focus on marine conservation and the unseen beauty of the sea.
