Es Cubells begins this weekend’s festivities in honor of Santa Teresa with two nights of concerts varied between blues, rock, funk and a tribute to El Último de la Fila.
The first night of es Cubells will be this Friday and will begin at 8pm with a quartet formed by two of the most important blues musicians on the national scene, the Argentine Martin Burguez and Madrid’s Cesar Crespo, who are becoming regulars on the Ibizan music scene. Then come Lo Mejor del Último, a tribute band to El Último de la Fila and Manolo García led by vocalist Vicente Carpes, which has toured throughout Spain in recent years, sharing the stage with artists such as Antonio Orozco and Camela. In their concerts they pay tribute with respect and rigor to the entire career of Manolo García, with songs ranging from ‘Insurrección’ to ‘Nunca el tiempo es perdido’.
On Saturday the concerts are scheduled after the traditional mass and procession of Santa Teresa. They will begin at 8pm with a Ibizan veteran rock band that returns to meet for the occasion: Ses Sopris with their versions of classic rock, punk and metal translated into a eivissenc rural and irreverent style.
Then another festive group will arrive, the albaceteños Combo Calada a band cañera and vindicative with themes that go from metal to funk with rhythms to make you dance. Then it will be the Ibizan Billy Flamingos turn, who continues with the tour of his second album in which they mix rock and electronics, to finish with a session by DJ Javi ‘Mad Dog’,
