Drugs in Ibiza: €18,000 raised to free resident arrested in Bali

More than 170 people have made a contribution to help Louis Quest return to Ibiza . The collection to get this island resident out of the prison he is in in Bali (Indonesia) has already reached 17,920 euros.

Louis is in a “difficult situation” after the authorities caught him with 0.35 grams of cannabis. The Indonesian government has imposed a 25,000 euro fine in order to be released from prison and his friend Niamh has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help him.

The shows of support have not been long in coming. Among the highest donations is that of Daniel Walton, who has contributed 2,500 euros to the cause. Several anonymous donations of €1,000 have also been recorded.

“Louis has been arrested in Bali for possession of a small amount of cannabis and faces serious legal consequences. He forgot that he had the drug from his trip to Thailand, where it is legal,” his friend explains on Gofundme. “The funds will go to pay this fine and bring him back home,” his friend notes.

In this context, the detainee’s friend notes that “Louis’ situation serves as a stark reminder of the possible consequences of seemingly minor actions” and stresses the importance of learning from such experiences.

The detainee’s mother, Paula, wanted to thank “for the gratitude and support” niamh wrote on the crowdfunding platform.
