Dates, times, and routes for Ibiza Carnival’s final parades and the Burial of the Sardine

The last two costume parades on the island will be held this Tuesday

Carnival in Ibiza is practically coming to an end. After an intense week of activities and carnival parades in Ibiza, Sant Josep, Sant Joan and Formentera, there are still Sant Antoni and Santa Eulària to take to the streets to celebrate their rúas. An opportunity to see some of the comparsas that have been most popular so far and to discover some new ones, which are reserved for these last two parades.

Santa Eulària Carnival parade

The Santa Eulària parade is scheduled for this Tuesday of Carnival, february 13. It will start at 5 pm from Sant Jaume street and will travel along the streets César Puget Riquer, José Guasch Vich, Sant Jaume, Paseo de s’Alamera and Plaza de España, where there will be a party and awards will be given to the groups, floats and costumes that have pleased the jury. In total, 8,000 euros will be distributed in four categories and five special prizes.

Carnival of Sant Antoni

Sant Antoni has also chosen the shrove Tuesday, as is tradition, to celebrate its rúa. The rally is scheduled on february 13 at 4:30 p.m at Doctor Fleming Avenue, from where it will leave at 5 pm. It will run along this road until it reaches the Passeig de ses Fonts and make a complete lap around it. The City Council will distribute 12,000 euros in prizes to the best costumes, troupes and floats, in the categories of children, youth and adult.

Burial of the Sardine

The festival of Don Carnal will conclude in Vila, as is traditional, at the Parque de la Paz on Wednesday, February 14 (Ash Wednesday) at 7:00 p.m with the burial of the sardine, which this year will make a nod to Valentine’s Day, which is commemorated on the same day. Es Clot dancers will perform, the group Roxela & The Gang and will be served free of charge 80 kilos of sardines grilled.
