The young guitarist plays this afternoon at Can Jordi Blues Station and on Saturday at the Ibiza Theater

Texan guitarist Dylan Bishop is offering two concerts in Ibiza this week thanks to musician and promoter David Barona, today Thursday at 7 pm at Can Jordi Blues Station and this Saturday the 13th of May, starting at 9 pm, in the series ‘The Thrill is Here’, which on the second Saturdays of every month brings some of the biggest names on the blues scene to the Teatro Ibiza venue, which is celebrating its anniversary with an international name.

Despite his youth, he is only 24 years old, Bishop is already one of the most important great realities of American blues. He hails from Texas, the birthplace of the blues, and shuffles such characteristic styles as shuffle, jump blues and rock and roll. At

United States he has been considered a prodigy for many yearsthe Dylan Bishop Band’s debut album, ‘The exiciting sound of the Dylan Bishop Band’, was so successful that Jimmie Vaughan wanted to play on his debut album. Wes Race, from Fort Worth (Dallas), discovered him playing in a bar when Bishop was still in high school and David Mac, from the famous Blues Junction Productions website, interviewed him when he released that first album.

Classic Blues

“Bishop has a confident and assured style, based on the deep sounds of classic blues. His influences range from Johnny Guitar Watson to T-Bone Walker to Otis Rush to Goree Carter. He started playing guitar when he was seven years oldfocusing on classic rock, until he discovered the archaic flavor of the blues, which seduced him with its rawness and sincerity. After graduating from school in Forth Worth, he settled in Austin, from where he writes his music and travels around the country and also abroad. This is his first European tour, which in Spain takes him to stop in Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza and Ibiza, to offer at each stop a blues party,” the organizers said yesterday through a note.
