Since last weekend, before the long weekend of the Constitution, all citizens of the Balearic Islands can be vaccinated against seasonal flu if they wish. And the vaccination campaign against the winter virus will conclude at the beginning of January, although the Servei de Salut recalled that all health centers will keep some doses to vaccinate late comers who have decided to be immunized in the new year.

As will be recalled, the combined vaccination campaign against covid and influenza began on October 11th and could be attended by people aged 60 and over, those between 12 and 59 years old with risk conditions, as well as pregnant women and healthcare workers caring for patients.

Since then and up to November 30th, a total of 136,051 users have been immunized against the seasonal virus, just four out of ten people invited to be vaccinated accepted the call to avoid complications.

By age group, 1,594 children under 14 years of age with risk criteria have been vaccinated; 23,001 people between 14 and 60 years of age and 111,456 people between 14 and 60 years of age or older.

By health care management, 109,604 have been immunized on Mallorca, 15,243 on Ibiza and Formentera and 11,204 on Menorca.

Vaccination without appointment

The Servei de Salut reminds all those who want to be inoculated with the flu vaccine can make an appointment in advance through the Infovacuna telephone number (971 211 999) or go without prior arrangement to the points set up for this purpose on the different islands of this archipelago.

Thus, on Mallorca, you can go to get vaccinated without prior appointment at any of the four mass vaccination points open, which are the following: the esplanade of the old Son Dureta hospital and the Espai Francesc Quetglas, in Palma; the old General Luque barracks, in Inca; and the facility known as Covid Exprés in Manacor.

The opening hours of these four vaccination points are between 8:30am and 7:30pm.

On Menorca, any citizen can be vaccinated at their nearest health center on Fridays from 12pm to 1pm.

On Ibiza, at the vaccination point in building J of the Can Misses Hospital (Monday to Friday, from 8am to 3pm), the health center of Sant Antoni (Monday to Thursday, from 3:30pm to 8pm) and in Santa Eulária des Riu (Monday to Friday, from 12pm to 2pm). On the smaller pitiüsa vaccinations will take place in the Formentera hospital on Fridays from 3:15pm to 5pm.
