Art against cancer at the Club Nautico Ibiza

A total of 16 artists from Ibiza and Formentera lend their works to a solidarity exhibition of AECC that opens this Friday

Once again this year the Club Náutico de Ibiza wants to collaborate with the Spanish Cancer Association by organising a Solidarity Exhibition, with the collaboration of the Asociación de Amigos del Arte Balear Art amb B (Friends of Balearic Art Association) and the Fundació Baleària.

32 original pieces will be on display at the exhibition. Participating artists are: Ángel Zabala, Aphon Hengcharoen, Carles Guasch, Carmen Liberal, Diana Bustamante, Lina Andiñach, Juan Gascón, Marga Juan, Josefina Torres, Marga Guach, Martín Santos, Matilde Hernández, Miguel Ángel García López, Patricia Boned and Antoni Marí Tirurit from Ibiza, and Formentera artists Mar Ample and Álvaro Mendoza.

All of them have made two original works in small format which can be purchased by visitors after a donation of 100 euros in favor of the AECC. “Donations to the association contribute to the fight against this disease, while acquiring a precious work of art tax-deductible in the next income tax return,” the organizers said yesterday in a note.

All the pieces are framed and will be presented to the public at the opening of the exhibition, which will take place this Friday, October 20, at 7.30 pm. Visitors to the exhibition will find a varied representation of current art made in Ibiza and Formentera and contribute with their donation. The exhibition can be visited at the Club Nautico Ibiza until December 13, when the works can be withdrawn by interested persons.

Graphic work

In addition to the original works, donations can be made to the AECC through the purchase of three pieces of graphic art. These are three silkscreen prints made for the occasion by three local artists who have donated 50 copies of each series to the Association; the artists in question are: Aphon Hengcharoen, Patricia Boned and Angel Zabala.

These series of graphic works will be available at the Club Nautico Ibiza in exchange for a donation of 30€ for the Spanish Association Against Cancer.
