The Ibizan restaurant Sublimotion of Paco Roncero, Burger King, the chef Jesus Sanchez del Cenador de Amos, Brewers of Spain and Antonio Resines, are some of the winners of the XVI National Hospitality Awards, as reported by Hostelería de España in a statement.
Specifically, these awards will be presented on October 28 in Madrid with an eye on the challenges that the sector faces in the future, especially in terms of sustainability, digitization and professionalization in a context of economic uncertainty.
This year, the National Hospitality Awards once again recognize the work of establishments, companies and institutions that have stood out in aspects as varied as innovation, social responsibility, support for culture, sustainability or commitment to people with disabilities.
Thus, the award recognizing the hotel businesswoman has gone to Ma Asun Ibarrondo-Boroa Jatetxea (Vizcaya), the award for the hotel company to the Romerijo Group, an emblematic traditional restaurant in El Puerto de Santa María that cooks seafood and fried fish, while the award for the hospitality company committed to social responsibility went to Restaurante Ovillo (Madrid), owned by chef Javier Muñoz-Calero, and Restaurante El Cobijo (Ávila) was recognized as the hospitality company committed to people with disabilities.
Ibiza represents as the Outstanding Hospitality Company in Innovation
The award for the outstanding hospitality company in innovation went to Sublimotion of Paco Roncero (Ibiza), while the Vertical project (Valencia) of chef Jorge de Andrés won the award for the outstanding hospitality company in the promotion of Spanish culture and gastronomy.
The multinational Burger King won the award for the hospitality company committed to sustainability, which has set itself the goal of reducing emissions by 50% by 2030 and becoming a completely neutral company by 2050.
Chef Jesús Sánchez, from Cenador de Amós, which has three Michelin stars and three Repsol Suns, has been designated with the award for chef-entrepreneur, while Casa Juancho (Miami) has won the award for internationalization.
For its part, the ‘José Luis Fernández Noriega’ award for concord went to the Association of Restaurants for the Promotion of Asturian Cuisine, made up of 11 successful restaurants in the region committed to the dissemination of the Asturian gastronomic tradition, its dignity and its consolidation as a tourist attraction, while the award to the person for his contribution to the improvement of the sector went to José Ángel Subirá Castillón, a reference in the hospitality industry in Aragón, and the award for the work of dissemination of communication went to Francisco López Canís.
Cerveceros de España has won the award for the entity or institution in a year in which it celebrates its centenary, while Endenred has won the award for the supplier company and Hecansa (Canary Islands), for training.
Also among the winners for this year are the Regional Federation of Hotel and Tourism Businessowners of Castilla-La Mancha and the actor Antonio Resines.
