Ibiza and Formentera to receive 4 million euros for tourism sustainability plans

This sustainable tourism program is promoted by the state government.

Ibiza and Formentera will receive a total of 4.01 million euros to implement sustainability plans for tourism, which are part of the state program for the modernization and improvement of tourist destinations.

Specifically, Ibiza will receive 2.01 million while Formentera will receive another two million, after the approval this Monday in the Consell de Govern, which was confirmed on Monday by the spokesman, Iago Negueruela, in a press conference.

The two figures are direct subsidies corresponding to the call for the Territorial Plan for Sustainable Tourism in Destinations 2021.

Transformation in the tourism sector

The Balearic executive have recalled that the aim is to ensure that “transformative actions” are undertaken in the tourism sector in the areas of green transition, digital transition and improving competitiveness.

This is a program promoted by the State Government to support investment in actions to promote, adapt and improve tourist destinations in order to “increase and improve their sustainability”
