The Ibiza fire brigade has been working since yesterday evening to put out a fire at the Sant Rafel biomass plant. The fire broke out at around 8.30 p.m. and they are still working this morning.
Being a slow-burning fire without oxygen, the flames are much more difficult to extinguish, according to firefighters.
Two fire engines and four firefighting agents were deployed to the scene.
The fire is being cooled after the agents have intervened throughout the night to extinguish it. In total, 100 meters of the plant biomass plant have been affected.
We are acting with 4 firefighters and two fire engines in the biomass treatment plant of Sant Rafael for a slow burning vegetation fire.
