Here are the best plans for the weekend on Ibiza and Formentera

The Barruguet Family Theater Festival and the music and dance of the Ibiza Swing Fun Fest are back this weekend.

More festivals return this weekend after the obligatory covid break. This week it is the Festival Barruguet de Teatro Familiar de Santa Eulària and Ibiza Swing Fun Fest, both bigger than ever and with renewed energy.

Over 3 days this weekend, Santa Eulària has an extensive program of theater, circus entertainment, clowns, dance and installations for the whole family. Most of them are free or at very affordable prices, so there is no excuse not to get the little ones out of the house this weekend to one of the most traditional events of the Ibizan scene. In addition, there are parking vouchers with the tickets to facilitate access.

The Ibiza Swing Fun Fest is divided between four locations on Ibiza this year, Platja d’en Bossa and Sant Antoni from Friday to Sunday. On the last day a huge, free closing party is scheduled with dancing, food and lots of music until sunset at sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni.

There is also a new festival, the Sant Jordi bee festival, with an exhibition to raise awareness for the importance of these insects in the environmental balance, workshops, games, music and paella.

And the festivities of Puig d’en Valls continue, with some highlights such as the Fun&Trucks on Saturday in the marquee, with food, music and atmosphere for the little ones, or the great paella on Sunday, organized by the festival committee and enlivened by the duo Islabel. In addition, Sant Josep celebrates the traditional Festa de Sant Esidre from Friday to Saturday.

On Saturday there are also two piano concerts from Juan Antonio Simarro in Can Ventosa and Sergi Navarro in the Formentera cinema, and on Sunday the poets meeting  ‘Formentera Pont de Poesia’ in the Centre Antoni Tur Gabrielet, which this year pays tribute to the recently deceased Pau Riba.

And for an exotic touch, the auditorium of Cas Serres brings the master of Indian dance and music Hemant Devara on Friday in the colourful ‘The Bollywood Show’. And Friday features ‘Flamenco para la alegría’, by Teresa Rojas’ flamenco school, at Can Ventosa.
