Is Ibiza expensive? Depends for whom: there is something that has gone down in price

The increase in the price of housing in Ibiza is unstoppable, to which must be added that gasoline or the shopping basket are more expensive than on the mainland … And it is that the insularity has a price, and it is high.

Living in Ibiza is expensive, and traveling to the island on vacation is also expensive. Although not for everyone and this season a nationality will see the prices of their vacation packages to spend a few days of vacation on the island go down.

Cheapest vacation packages

These are the british visitors. According to a consumer association in Great Britain, Which? (a sort of OCU), families booking their package vacations this season are facing price increases that exceed inflation and may be as high as 11.5%, according to Which?

The study has compared the costs of 8,000 vacation packages this 2025 with those of last year for the month of August. The average increase stood at 4.2%, above the inflation rate of around 2.5%, and some destinations have shot up much more than others.

Surprisingly, this comparison reflects that for Ibiza, one of the most popular destinations in that country, package holidays for the British have gone down in price, although for other Spanish destinations they have increased.

According to the consumer association, if in 2024 an average package holiday to spend a few days in August on the island stood at £1,269 per person (about €1,522), this summer of 2025 the price has dropped by 6.4%to £1,187 (1,423 euros). Package tours to Tenerife have also fallen by 2%.

This is great news for Ibiza as a tourist destination, especially considering its most direct competitors, such as Croatia or Greece, whose vacation packages have increased by an average of 3%.
