The Pitiusas Islands begin the high season with hotel occupancy rate of 86%

The average hotel occupancy rate so far this year in the Pitiüses is already 76.5%.

After two bad years as a result of the pandemic, tourism returned to its former glory in June with a hotel occupancy rate in the Pitiüses of 86.2% (67% in May). This is 35.5 percentage points more than in 2021 and almost 70% more since then. As the month progressed, these statistics improved: from 84.4% occupancy in the first fortnight to 88% in the second. Just a year ago, the percentages were significantly lower: 47.6% and 53.8%, respectively, according to the survey of the Hotels Federation on the island.

By tourist areas, the average for the month in Vila was 85.8%, while in Sant Josep it rose to 87.1%, in Sant Antoni and the bay of Portmany to 88.2%, in the north of the island to 88.3% and in Santa Eulària to 86.5%.

The average for the island of Ibiza was 87% (from 50.3% a year ago, i.e. 73% more today), above the pitiusa, while that of Formentera was 77.4% (53.3% in 2021, a year-on-year increase of 45.3%).

The season is not doing too badly at all, a relief after what happened in 2020 and 2021. The average hotel occupancy rate so far this year in the Pitiusas is already 76.5%, an infinitely better percentage than the 48.3% recorded in these islands at the same time: the year-on-year difference is 58.6%. In the case of the island of Ibiza, the average for the first months of this season is 78.2% (it was 50.6% in 2021); on Formentera, 60% (41.7% a year ago).

For the moment, the tourist area that is performing best in 2022 is Sant Antoni and the bay of Portmany, with a hotel occupancy rate of almost 79%
