Farewell to Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza: What’s next for the Children of the 80’s party?

Palladium Hotel Group recently announced the launch of a new brand set to debut this summer in Ibiza. The change primarily affects the Ushuaïa Tower, which will be rebranded as The Unexpected Ibiza Hotel.

However, the planned changes for the Ibizan hotel company extend well beyond the name change of this particular hotel.

As reported by Diario de Ibiza, the 2025 season will mark the final season for the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, the prestigious five-star Palladium hotel located in Platja d’en Bossa, which has been home to the iconic Children of the 80s party every summer Friday.

Although Palladium Hotel Group has neither officially confirmed nor denied this, sources close to the company have corroborated the information.

The Ibizan group is set to disassociate from the Hard Rock brand. The hotel will no longer need to pay rent or royalties for using the Hard Rock name, and it will be rebranded as ‘The Site’.

Details about this new establishment remain unclear, but it is expected that this will be the last season under the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza name. The hotel will maintain its 5-star rating, with plans for renovations and upgrades to enhance the overall customer experience.

According to Palladium sources, the goal is to elevate the Platja d’en Bossa area.

What Will Happen to the Children of the 80s Party?

For years, the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza has been home to Children of the 80s, one of the island’s most famous weekly parties. With the rebranding to The Site, there is uncertainty about whether this event will continue at the venue.

“We will fight to keep it, because it’s a beloved party among the locals, but at the moment, everything is up in the air. We don’t know yet,” explained Palladium.
