The flames have devoured this Monday morning a 20-square-meter cottage located in a rural area of the municipality of Sant Joan, firefighters have reported. No personal injuries have been reported.
Firefighters have received a notice at 9.50 a.m. that alerted of a fire in a cabin located at the height of the hostel Ses Arcades. In response to the emergency, four firefighters and a corporal on board a heavy urban pump vehicle have been displaced.
A person was trying to put out the flames with the help of a hose when the firefighters arrived at 10:21 a.m., although the fire was too intense to put it out without the assistance of professional extinguishing means.
The workers of the Insular Park have been able to defuse the emergency without the flames spreading beyond the enclosure. They were able to return to base at 11:50 am. The fire has reduced to ashes the building, of which only the circular base of the structure has remained.
