The main Christmas holidays, 24 and 31 December, fall on a Sunday this year. This circumstance has forced supermarkets to adapt their opening hours to the needs of consumers.
The supermarket Hypercenter located on the road from Ibiza to Sant Antoni, will open on the 24th from 8.30 am to 7 pm, but will close on December 31st. It will open its doors on Sunday 17 from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. On December 25, January 1 and 6 (Christmas, New Year’s Day and Epiphany, respectively) it will be closed.
Eroski Ses Païsses will be open on December 24 and 31 from 9 am to 7 pm. Eroski Center, located on the Sant Joan road, at the exit of Ibiza town, will remain open on December 24 from 9 am to 7 pm, but the supermarket has not yet confirmed the schedule for December 31. Both will be closed for the rest of the holidays (December 25, January 1 and 6).
The shopping center Aldi, on Sant Jordi Avenue in Ibiza, will open its doors in reduced opening hours, still to be determined. On December 18, the schedule finally established for these dates will be available on their website.
The German supermarket chain Lidl, which has three stores on the island, will open on the 24th from 9 am to 3 pm and will remain closed on December 31st. The supermarkets in Sant Antoni and Ibiza town will also open on Sunday, December 17 from 9 am to 3 pm and will be closed on other holidays (December 25, January 1 and 6).
Mercadona will open exceptionally on Sundays this Christmas. Thus, on the 24th and 31st the Valencian chain will offer its products from 9 am to 3 pm. The supermarkets of the businessman Juan Roig will close on Monday december 25monday january 1 and saturday january 6.
