A migrant boat has arrived this morning to the island of Formentera with 24 people on board, as reported from the Government delegation in the Balearic Islands. The boat is the third to arrive to the island in little more than 24 hours. On this occasion, the boat, which has been sighted at 9.35 hours by a private individual, has been anchored at codolar cove, at the foot of La Mola lighthouse.
The boat was carrying 24 personssome of North African origin and others of sub-Saharan origin, in apparent good health, as reported by the Government Delegation in the Balearic Islands.
A boat of the Guardia Civil has rescued at noon the first migrants, since it is not possible to access on foot to this area of the coast of the island. Maritime Rescue and the Group of Specialists in Underwater Activities have also intervened in the rescue.
Three boats and 46 people
Throughout the early hours of yesterday morning, at about 2 hoursa migrant boat arrived on the island by the s’Estufador coast with twelve peopleincluding one woman.
Later in the morning, at about 11 o’clock (only nine hours later)a second migrant boat was spotted in the des Migjorn area with eleven other people on board.
