Two arrested in Formentera for robbing tobacconist and illegally selling stolen cartons on the street

The Local Police of Formentera have arrested two young men for an alleged crime of robbery with force for allegedly robbing a tobacconist and then selling the cartons of tobacco in the street.

As reported by the Consell de Formentera, the arrested offered resistance, so they are charged with crimes of active resistance and gross disobedience.

The arrest took place this Wednesday at noon. The detainees are two individuals of North African origin aged 25 and 35 years. The Guardia Civil had informed the local agents that a robbery had been registered in the tobacconist of Sant Ferran. Through citizen collaboration, the alleged perpetrators were located while carrying a bag with numerous cartons of tobacco.

Upon checking the images from the surveillance cameras, it was also possible to verify that they were the same people. The detainees were selling the products they had stolen in the streets of Sant Ferran.
