The island of Ibiza has a new Sol of the Repsol Gastronomic Guide 2025. It is the chiringuito Es Fumeral, in Cala Nova, “an ideal place to indulge in the succulence of the sea, be it Galician clams, Kamchatka king crab or rooster and red shrimp from the Mediterranean,” says the gastronomic guide.
The specialty of this establishment is the fish and seafood. Es Fumeral is a contemporary beach bar where the food “is chosen with care and altered as little as possible, whether it is steamed, grilled, fried or stewed, under the instructions of Alberto Pacheco, Rafa Zafra’s right-hand man”, explains the Repsol Guide.
“The service staff accompanies the diner at all times, attends to their organoleptic and budgetary preferences, and it is worth trying the ‘flaó’, their interpretation of the Ibizan cheesecake, because even the desserts harmonize with the sea breeze”, details the gastronomic website.
“Receiving our first Sun in the Repsol Guide is an honor and a recognition of the work, passion and commitment of our entire team,” they say from the award-winning establishment in their social networks.
“This achievement is a reflection of the vision of our chef Alberto Pacheco, who with his honest and uncontrived cuisine has managed to shape a concept where flavor and simplicity become excellence. Thanks to each person who has accompanied us on this journey, to those who visit us and enjoy our cuisine, and to our team for making it possible,” concludes Es Fumeral’s Instagram post.
The average price to eat in es Fumeral exceeds the 60 euros the Repsol Guide recommends ordering Katsusando de ventresca de atún de Barbate, ensaladilla de ventresca de atún de Barbate y piparras (tuna belly salad) and grilled fish.
Formentera
Sol Post, in Formentera, has received another Sol. In front of Cala Saona, in the hotel of the same name, the guide highlights the restlessness and talent of a team of twenty-somethings led by Joan Costa “whose cuisine builds transatlantic bridges by interpreting Central American and Catalan recipes with local ingredients”.

“The origin of the cooks of Sol Post justifies the collaborative and mixed essence of this restaurant that serves a unique tasting menu in ceramic dishes that you can pair with 200 references from its cellar”, explained from Repsol. The guide recommends the mellow texture of the lobster, the powerful flavor of the sirvia or lemon fish, the surprise of the Salvadoran pastry filled with ‘cap i pota’, the aroma of the pupusa stuffed with oxtail. The desserts deserve special attention, “chests of daring and just sweetness”, says the guide.
Sol Post has two tasting menus of 120 and 160 euros and has options for celiac people.
The modern ‘eating houses’ of Susi Díaz’s La Finca in Elche and Pedro Sánchez’s Bagá in Jaénhave been the only two restaurants recognized with three Soles by the Repsol Guide 2025.
With the slogan ‘Tenerife has more than a sun’, the gala of the 2025 edition, held this Monday at the Guimerá Theater, also recognized the following with the following awards two Soles to 17 new establishments throughout Spain and to other 71 with a Sun.
