The German tour group TUI will offer holidays on the islands of Ibiza and Formentera from May 1 after the success it had in Mallorca during the Easter holidays.

TUI reported on Monday that many Mediterranean tourist destinations will be open for tourism in the coming weeks.

“After the Easter start in Mallorca, little sisters Ibiza and Formentera will also now receive their first visitors,” according to the German tour operator.

TUI’s Director for Germany, Marek Andryszak, believes that “the Easter holidays in Mallorca have shown that organised travel has no influence on the pandemic”.

Andryszak stressed that the incidence in Mallorca remained at the same level as before the first trips, demonstrating that hygiene measures are working. The hotels Grupotel Santa Eulalia in Ibiza and Riu La Mola in Formentera will also open their doors to tourists and offer coronavirus testing to travellers upon their return.
